JACOPO BASSANO

The Renaissance painter Jacopo Bassano (c.15151592) was an artist of remarkable originality. As the head of a large family of artists, he ran a highly successful workshop in the town of Bassano, near Venice. In collaboration with his sons Francesco, Leandro, Gerolamo, and Giambattista, the workshop expanded and flourished well into the 17th century.
